The Jail4Bail campaign is social media spam.
To be honest I didn’t really know what the Jail4Bail campaign was all about, I still don’t. I knew it had to do with someone locking himself in a jail cell and only leaving if a certain amount had been raised for some or other cause. The ground breaking concept didn’t excite me enough to read up more about it.
It started with a barrage of tweets and blog posts that I skipped passed like I do with spam mail. From then on it hasn’t stopped since, and I doubt it will until the jail bird gets his money.
On Friday I jokingly tweeted:
If I see one more mention of jail4bail I might just quit the internets - its beyond overboard.
I got a few replies questioning my cynicism as expected. BizCommunity even hyperlinked to my tweet above as “criticism” in their article about the subject “Social media to rescue Jail4Bail campaign?”. In truth it’s not criticism, it’s a cry for help. Stop spamming me!
